About HAP
Harrison Academic Press (HAP) is an independent academic publisher of peer-reviewed, open-access journals. We give researchers, clinicians, engineers and scholars a careful, transparent place to publish original work, and we make that work free for anyone to read.
The press was set up to support researchers in sharing discoveries that move their fields forward. We keep firm editorial standards, take research integrity seriously, and encourage collaboration between scholars across countries and disciplines.
What we publish
HAP publishes thirty-five journals in four research families: health and the life sciences; artificial intelligence and intelligent systems; data, digital and frontier technology; and society, law and the humanities. See them all on the Journals page.
Our mission
- Publish high-quality, peer-reviewed journals across a wide range of disciplines.
- Give authors a transparent, efficient and ethical publishing process.
- Make research openly available to readers everywhere.
- Encourage interdisciplinary and international collaboration.
- Uphold high standards of publication ethics and editorial integrity.
How every HAP journal works
- Double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers, with decisions made on academic merit alone.
- Open access under CC BY 4.0. Articles are free to read from publication, and authors keep their copyright.
- Clear charges. An Article Processing Charge applies only after acceptance, with no submission fee and with waivers available. Each journal lists its rates on its Article Processing Charges page.
- Research integrity. Plagiarism, data fabrication, duplicate publication and unethical authorship are handled through established procedures that protect the scholarly record.
- Persistent links. Every article receives a DOI and is indexed in Google Scholar.
